Pekan, May 7, 2018 – DRB-HICOM University of Automotive Malaysia (DRB-HICOM U) has allocated more than RM52 million worth of scholarships which is expected to benefit more than 3700 students to pursue their studies at the university. This move is to propel growth in higher education sector particularly in the automotive eco-system and technical and vocational education and training (TVET). The scholarships for SPM, STPM, matriculation leavers and also diploma holders are slated for the foundation, diploma and bachelor degree programmes that are being offered at the university. In addition to that, international students are being offered an additional 30% fee scholarship.
According to Prof. Dato’ Sr. Dr. Omar Osman, Vice Chancellor of DRB-HICOM University, the scholarship programme is part of the University’s effort in creating a formidable workforce for the automotive sector, not just in the country, but also for the region. It is the university’s hope that the scholarships offered would act as a human capital catalyst, whereby more individuals would take advantage of the programmes and pursue their studies.
The scholarship categories are as follows:
Foundation programme
– Full scholarship for high achievers in the B40 category
– Full tuition scholarship
– Partial tuition scholarship (up to 50%)
Diploma programme
– Partial tuition scholarship (up to RM 10,000)
Bachelors Degree
– Full scholarship for high achievers in the B40 category
– Partial tuition scholarship (up to RM 15,000)
Postgraduate Studies
– Partial tuition scholarship (up to RM 5,000)
